Chiropractic Adjustments

Our Chiropractic Doctors adjust a patient by applying manipulation to the vertebrae that have abnormal movement patterns or fail to function normally.

The objective of chiropractic treatment is to reduce the subluxation, with the goals of increasing range of motion, reducing nerve irritability and improving function.

Decompression Table

Our decompression table allows us to use a nonsurgical method of traction to achieve spinal decompression. A computer on the table controls the force and angle of disc distraction so that your body’s natural response to resist external force is reduced. The table's ability to control your body’s response allows it to apply a traction force to the discs of the spinal column, reducing intradiscal pressure.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the manipulation of different layers of muscle and connective tissue by using various techniques.

The objective is to enhance function, aid in the healing process, increase blood and lymph through the body, and promote relaxation and well-being.

Clear Choice Chiropractic uses a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal bio-mechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use with each patient is based on our clinical judgment, years of experience and needs of that individual.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body to stimulate energy flow, or Qi (pronounced "chee"). It is based on the belief that Qi flows through pathways known as meridians, and an imbalance or disruption in this flow can lead to physical or emotional health issues.

Acupuncture is used to:

  • Promote healing by stimulating the body's natural response to illness or injury.

  • Regulate physiological processes, such as blood circulation, metabolism, and nerve function.

  • Balance the flow of energy (Qi) to restore harmony and optimal health.

Practitioners of acupuncture often treat a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Chronic pain (e.g., back pain, arthritis, migraines)

  • Stress and anxiety

  • Digestive issues

  • Insomnia

  • Menstrual problems

The needles used are very thin, making the treatment typically painless. Many patients report feeling deeply relaxed during and after sessions. Modern scientific studies suggest that acupuncture may stimulate the body's production of endorphins, improve blood circulation, and reduce inflammation.

While acupuncture is a safe and minimally invasive treatment when performed by trained professionals, it is essential for patients to consult healthcare providers before starting acupuncture, particularly for serious or ongoing medical conditions.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a modern therapeutic technique used by physical therapists, chiropractors, and other trained healthcare providers to treat muscle pain, trigger points, and musculoskeletal dysfunction. It involves inserting thin, solid needles into muscle tissue, specifically targeting areas of tightness or "trigger points"—these are hyperirritable spots within a muscle that can cause localized or referred pain.

Key differences between Dry Needling and Acupuncture:

  • Purpose:

    • Dry needling is primarily aimed at relieving muscle pain, improving movement, and reducing muscle tightness.

    • Acupuncture, on the other hand, is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles and is used to balance the flow of energy (Qi) throughout the body.

  • Needle Insertion:

    • In dry needling, the needle is inserted directly into a muscle trigger point to cause a local twitch response. This is believed to help release muscle tension and improve blood flow.

    • In acupuncture, needles are placed along specific points (often distant from the area of pain) to influence the body’s energy flow.
